Ear plugs or noise-canceling headphones are helpful if loud sounds trigger your migraine. If you're already experiencing a migraine attack, earplugs can help to lower the volume around you.
Ear plugs
Bright lights can worsen the effects of migraine. Use your eye mask to block out the light while you wait for your medication to kick in.
Always keep your migraine medications with you. These may include pain relievers or anti-nausea medications. Take them at the first sign of a migraine or as directed.
If you’re sensitive to light, wear sunglasses inside and outside. Wraparound sunglasses or those with big lenses will provide better protection.
Blue light exposure from screens may make migraine worse. Consider wearing blue light-blocking glasses when using a smartphone or computer.
Dehydration is a common migraine trigger. Carry a water bottle with you to help you stay hydrated.
An instant cold pack stays at room temperature until you activate it. These stay cold for up to 20 minutes and may reduce your pain.

Consider keeping a few essential oils with youfor aromatherapy. Research on lavender and peppermint oil suggests they may help prevent migraine or manage symptoms. You can sniff them directly from the bottle, or put a few drops in a carrier oil (like jojoba or olive oil) and massageinto your temples.
Keep ginger, lemon, or sour candies on hand.They may relieve the nausea caused by a migraine.
Eating on a regular schedule may help prevent migraine. Pack portable snacks like a granola bar or trail mix. Try something bland, like crackers or pretzels, if you’re dealing with nausea.
